Meghna Arikara is an artist hailing from Bangalore, India based in Chicago, Illinois. She is BFA candidate at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago with a focus in sculpture. Primarily working with wood, concrete and ceramic– traditional elements in construction— she explores the dynamics of spaces considered home as well as the experience of migration and REcreation in the absence of home. She draws inspiration from her familial and ancestral history. Her work has been shown at the South Asia Institute and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
